Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5th, 2025
1. Information We Collect
- Offline by default: User content (e.g. tournament sheets, notes, stance analysis) is stored and processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Usage Data (pseudonymous): We collect drill and quiz metadata linked only to your anonymized user ID. This identifier does not include your name or contact information and is used solely for aggregate usage analysis and performance improvements. You can opt out at any time in in-app settings.
- Usage Data (anonymous): We collect de-identified, aggregate usage metrics using Firebase with child-privacy/protective settings enabled. You can opt out at any time in in-app settings.
- Device/Log Information: Limited technical information may be processed when you interact with our servers (e.g., when authenticating or uploading a backup).
- Cookies: See Section 3 for details on our website’s use of cookies and analytics.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Service.
- Improve reliability and performance with usage metrics.
- Communicate with you about service updates and support.
- Prevent fraud, secure the Service, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
3. Cookies & Tracking
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to remember preferences, analyze traffic, and measure effectiveness.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics on our website. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies to collect information about how visitors use our site. This data helps us understand usage trends and improve the website. Google may also process this information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time via the Manage cookies link in the website footer and selecting Reject. Doing so will immediately disable analytics tracking and remove any related cookies. You may also use Google’s opt-out tool or adjust your browser settings to block cookies.
- Geolocation & Regional Settings: We may use IP-based geolocation provided by trusted third parties to determine an approximate location (e.g., country/region). This helps us apply regional consent rules (such as whether to display a cookie banner) and improve the accuracy of analytics. These services receive your IP address solely to return generalized location information. We do not store this lookup result with other identifiers or profile users based on it.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share only as needed to operate the Service:
- Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (for optional app analytics and secure storage of pseudonymous session logs, including anonymous authentication to issue an app-scoped user ID) and geolocation services (to apply regional consent and analytics settings) as our processors.
- Legal/Compliance: To comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
5. Data Retention
- On-device data: Remains on your device under your control.
- App pseudonymous logs: Kept as long as needed to operate the Service and comply with legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized. Disabling analytics in the app stops further uploads.
- Analytics data: Retained by Google Analytics for reporting and service improvement, subject to Google’s retention policies.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, object to certain processing, or request data portability. Where we rely on consent (e.g., analytics cookies), you can withdraw it at any time through your browser or by using Google’s opt-out add-on.
To exercise rights, contact hello@sportynaut.io. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity.
7. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risks of our processing. On-device data remains local unless you choose to share it (e.g., via export). Data sent to our processors (such as optional app analytics) is transmitted over secure channels. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us at hello@sportynaut.io so we can delete it.
9. International Transfers
Your information (including any optional backups) may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect personal data during transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email when appropriate.
